1) Solve 2(2.5B - 9) + 6B = -7

2) 0.7W + 16 + 4W = 27.28

Solve: \(\displaystyle \L \;1)\,2(2.5B - 9) + 6B = -7\)

...........\(\displaystyle \L \;2)\,0.7W + 16 + 4W = 27.28\)

Look in your book or google the Distributive Property

Using this property for \(\displaystyle 1\): \(\displaystyle \L \;2(2.5B\,-\,9)\,=\,2\,\bullet\,2.5B\,+\,2\,\bullet\,-9\)

Once you overcome that, just solve the equation as normal for \(\displaystyle B\). If you get stuck, show us your work and we'll push you in the right direction.

Kim, if you subtract 16 from each side:
.7W + 16 - 16 + 4W = 27.28 - 16
4.7W = 11.28

You obviously need to go back to the basics; see your teacher.
And please do not type in Capital letters.

I'm sorry, but the way for you to learn is to do. Copying down what we do won't help any more than the copying you did in class, when you took your notes and when you read your book.

Please reply showing your work and reasoning, so we can try to figure out where you're having trouble. (If you can't get started, then I'm afraid you need more help than we could possibly provide, especially given your time constraints.)
