Yo guys,

What does the author mean by express p in terms of D, d and f ?
Is this another way to say transpose the formula to make p the subject ?

Yes - make p the subject.

That is the correct way to state the problem.

Another way to say it would be, "express p as a function of D, d, and f"; or simply, "solve for p".

I've long been curious as to where "make p the subject" is considered standard. In my experience, though I may be wrong, it is never used in the U.S.; but it may be used everywhere else, though possibly only at the school level rather than by mathematicians.

?

Thanks anyway. 'As a function of' is much easier to translate.
