Read each statement carefully. Decided whether the statement is true or false. Then, give a reason or an example that supports your answer.

Do you understand what these questions are asking?

The first asks whether \(\displaystyle 2x^2+ 14x+ 3\) is a "prime polynomial". What is the definition of "prime polynomial"? Whoever gave you this problem expects you to know that definition.

The second question asks if \(\displaystyle (x- y)^2= x^2+ y^2\) for any x or y. "Any" would certainly include x= 1 and y= 1. What do you get if you replace x with 1 and y with 1?
