How many 5-digit numbers are there that include the digit 5 and exclude the digit 8?

.....[5] _ _ _ _
....._ [5] _ _ _
....._ _ [5] _ _
....._ _ _ [5] _
....._ _ _ _ [5]

there are oly 9 possible numbers, since 8 can not be included so


(9^4)5=32805

but thats not the right answer...


can someone help me with this? Thanks :D
 
Do you consider 00005 a 5-digit number?
Or is 10005 the least such number you will count?

.....[5] 9* 9* 9* 9 = 6561
.....8 [5] *9 *9 *9 = 5832
.....8 *9 [5] *9* 9 = 5832
.....8 *9 *9 [5]* 9 = 5832
.....8 *9* 9* 9 [5] = 5832

Well, you did not directly answer my question!
So I have no idea if that is correct.
