Random Sampling

When 480 adults were asked if it is true or false that aerosol cans may use CFC's 240 adults knew it was false.

In a random sample of 480 adults, what is the sample proportion if more than 20% of adults knew it was false?


I need some guidance on where to start.. or maybe I am misinterpreting the question.

20% of 480 is 96 knowing that it is false. I just don't understand what I am putting the 96 in proportion to. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your help. That is what I did too.. but the question had multiple choice answers and that wasn't an option. The options are

.4808
.0228
.6995
.5192

I know that 1.5 isn't an option.... so that is why I was so confused.

Perhaps you need only a better question. Pick something greater than 20%, I guess.
