slope and a point: how to graph a line

to graph a line in a given point and slope will be? such as m=1; (0,2).. Do I have to trace the line or I have to use the formula y-y1 = m (x - x1) then trace the line :?:

Your question is not clear to me. But if you are given the fact that m=1 and a point on the line is (0,2) and you are to graph the line, one approach is to start at the given point, and draw a line through that point that has the given slope. In this case, since the slope is 1, or 1/1, from the starting point, (0,2), you can go one unit to the right and one unit up and designate another point, which would be (1,3). From that point, go 1 unit to the right and one unit up and that point will be another point on the line. Keep doing that until you are convinced that the line is going at a 45° angle upwards and to the right. That line has a slope of 1 and it passes through the point (0,2). You might consider extending the line to the left of the original point. Can you figure out how to do that?
