What is the definition of group differences?

What does your textbook say?

Group differences mean that you have collected data on two different populations, for example, male and female, and you want to know about the differences between the two groups in terms of the same measurement you collected. For example, can females run around a baseball diamond faster than males, if they are all about the same age and same health?
