Probability Question

You have the chart. Use it to find the probabilities.

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{c|c|c|c|c}\text{place}&\text{owns home}&\text{owns condo}&\text{rents}&\text{Total}\\ \hline\text{city}&20&100&180&300\\ \text{suburb}&120&45&60&225\\ \text{rural}&95&25&5&125\\ \hline\text{}&235&170&245&650\end{array}\)

a.)What is the probability that the household lives in a suburb and owns a condo?

\(\displaystyle \frac{120}{650}=\frac{12}{65}\)

d.)What is the probability that the household owns a home given that they live in a suburb?

When we have a 'given that', find the 'owns home' column down to the 'lives in a suburb' row and go across to the total.

\(\displaystyle \frac{120}{225}=\frac{8}{15}\)

See?.

Yea! I'm following. Thank You. I'll post the answers to the other questions and let you look over them.
