I was looking at these problems on my homework but I just can't understand it.

Here are the problems i struggle with most:
y=4
y=-1/2x
8(y+x)=9
12x=y/6
x(x+y)=4

I already know that linear function are written in the form Ax+By=C. But what I don't know is how to put each equation in the form (Ax+By=C) and the formula for equation. Please help me and show me how to do them step by step.
Thank You

Here are the problems i struggle with most:
y=4

For example above can be written as:

1*y + 0*x = 4

then we have A = 1, B=0 and C=4

Now try others....

y=-1/2x
8(y+x)=9
12x=y/6
x(x+y)=4
