Randy invested twice as much at 10% as he did at 8%. If he earns $30.80 annually how much did he invest at each rate?

Assign variables

Investment in 10% return = T

Investment in 8% return = E = T/2

then

money earned in 10% return = T * 0.1

money earned in 8% return = E * 0.08 = (T/2) * 0.08 = T * 0.04

Now continue......
