With six places for characters. How may Vanity plates are possible?
I understand the "normal plates" unclear what the vanity means. Please help????

Plates that say something like "2QUT4U" ( which should say "too cute for you" - I saw this plate yesterday)

That's where I am confused as to why Vanity plates are relevant. The original question is:

Vanity plates are license plates you can request from the DMV with an sequence of numbers and/or leters. For a particular state non-vanity plates(normal) plates are of the form, 123abc. three numbers followed by three letters. Notice there are six places for characters. Assume there are no restrictions, aside from only using numbers, letters and blanks.

How many license plates are possible in all? 11x11x11x27x27x27=26198073 (including blanks as a possibility)

How many "normal" plates are available?

How many vanity plates are possible?

Normal plates possible if I have it right:

10x10x10x26x26x26=17576000

Is Vanity plates 10x10x10x10x10x10+26x26x26x26x26x26? (or is this double counting for a space? Should these numbers include blank spaces?) Thank you
