That's where I am confused as to why Vanity plates are relevant. The original question is:
Vanity plates are license plates you can request from the DMV with an sequence of numbers and/or leters. For a particular state non-vanity plates(normal) plates are of the form, 123abc. three numbers followed by three letters. Notice there are six places for characters. Assume there are no restrictions, aside from only using numbers, letters and blanks.
How many license plates are possible in all? 11x11x11x27x27x27=26198073 (including blanks as a possibility)
How many "normal" plates are available?
How many vanity plates are possible?
