Hello all,
I am working on a question where we are to derive an expression for the 3rd central moment of a uniform distribution X~U[a,b]
I'm not sure if I did it right because I just end up with 0.
here is what I did:
I wrote out E[X-E(X)]^3
= E(X^3) - 3E(X^2)E(X) +2 [E(X)]^3
I subbed in E(X)=b-a/2 into the expressions and I end up with 0. Somehow they doesn't feel right. Am I doing this correctly?
thanks!
