Hello all,
I have 2 datasets, A and B. I need to identify the 3 measures of spread from the datasets, which is obvious. Then I have to identify which of the datasets has the wider spread, which is not so obvious. Here are the datasets:
Here the range of A is greater than that of B, but the IQR and SD of A are less than in B. If everything in A was less than B, this would be obvious to me. I've been looking through my textbook to try and find an answer, but in every example everything in A is less than in B, so I don't know the procedure in cases such as above. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Many thanks,
Dan
