Statistics Help Please: Determine whether carpeted rooms have more....

I'm desperate. I've asked my instructor to help me, she is very vague in her answers. When I say vague I mean I get, "I don't know."; "I'll get back to you."; "Refer to your book."; "Use 'the' calculator."; and "I am busy." Seriously. Those are the responses I get. I do not understand how to get the answer. I don't know where to look. I don't know if I can calculate these with statcrunch. I'm lost. These are my last 2 questions for the entire course, which ends tomorrow, and I'm completely stuck. I want to pull my hair out. I've been stuck on these two particular problems for over a week. I've posted the question all over the internet and I still cannot seem to get any answers. Please, please help me.
