Q. Identify the steps in interpreting a regression model. Interpret the following data:
Y=5.0+.30X1 where the dependent variable equals turnover intentions for line managers and the independent variable equals the number of employees supervised.

A. assuming an X value of 1, then 5, then 10, then 20 yields a Y value of 5.3, 6.5, 12.5 and 20...
where do I go from here, am I even on the correct track?

I'm not sure what you mean, is that the complete question? Was there any data presented? What are your thoughts? What have you done so far? Please show us your work even if you feel that it is wrong so we may try to help you. You might also read

opps, yes x=8 and x=11, thanks. But, that is secondary to the question.

background, this is a MBA research methods class. My knowledge and experience with statistics is very close to zero. The question above is verbatim.

Generally, for a class you should be pretty rigorous so you probably need to do some reading. As a simple example, there really is no interpretation one SHOULD make about the regression formula with the given information if you are being rigorous. However, one might say, off hand, that turnover intentions for line managers raise at about a third (0.3) times the number of employees supervised.
