Hello. For which part(s) would you like explanations? If you share what you've tried or thought about so far, we would have a context to begin discussing the exercise. For example, have you formed an equation (using the two expressions in the diagram), to show the longest sides have equal length? They have provided also the triangle's perimeter. That allows you to write a second equation. Then, one way to find the values of x and y would be to put each of those two equations into form a*x+b*y=c. Solving that system of equations provides the values of x and y. You could then evaluate each of the equal expressions in the diagram, to confirm they both give the same length. If you're not familiar with writing or solving systems of equations, then please describe what your class has been discussing recently. Thank you!
