Hi all ... In my diagram below we have a sqaure of 7 units enclosing a square of 5 units. If we calculate the size of the four triangles that are 3 x by 4 we arrive at only 48 units yet we started with 49 ... Where did the missing one go ?

Here is the diagram in question .. I know it is probably an old fallacy but it is important because I a working on something based on this ...

4 * (1/2) * 3 * 4 + 5^2 = 24 + 25 = 49 ................... where is the confusion?
