3rd Grade Fractions

Four friends share 8 oranges equally. How much does each friend get (write the answer as a mixed number and as a fraction) Questions exactly as my daughter homework asks i am puzzed because it doesnt seem to be an improper fraction?

This is merely tricky because it's asking something that is counter-intuitive.

Clearly each friend gets 2 oranges, right? So how about 2 0/7 - that's a mixed number. And how's 4/1 as the improper fraction?
