Basically I got this question in an exam:

Find the result of the following multiplication:
x=AB where A=[4,[f],-2,2]; B=[[c],1,3,-6]^T

The answer is -7. I have no idea how to get there as [f] and [c] haven't been defined!

Here's another example:
Find the result of the following multiplication:
x=AB where A=[-2,[a],8]; B=[[c],3,-2]^T

The answer to that one is -11.

If you can help me I'd be really grateful if someone could tell me how to get to those answers. I just can't see how it can be done without definition of the unknowns.

Thank you:)
