How would you write an equation of the line that passes through (-2, -5) and has a slope of 4?

There are various methods, including using determinants. I don't know which method you are supposed to use, since you haven't shown any work. But one method would be to plug the x-, y-, and m-values into "y = mx + b", solve for b, and then rewrite the equation with "m" and "b" inserted.
