It has a meaning. If you know the slope where the two segments intersect on the parabola, this alpha angle will help you to find the angle between the focus segment and the parabola, or the angle between the directrix segment and the parabola.

O.K. It is not from Homework or Academic Assignment.
It is a question from general knowledge of the mathematicians in this site and to accurate my answer I mean for example what happen when I kick a ball in parabolic track, is there a meaning to this angle (alpha? )?
