Fo this function g(x) = 2/x+5

I need to:
sketch the curve
indicate vertical and/or horizontal asymtotes
x-and y- intercepts

without too much detail (because I don't know how to use a lot of things on here) here's what I got.

vertical asym. x=4
horizonta asym y=0
no x intercept
y intercept (0, -1/2)

Someone pls tell me if I'm right. Sorry to sound dumb but I have no clue when it comes to math plus my prof. is horible.

Hello, shy5577!

You have typo, right? . . . It's \(\displaystyle x-4\), not \(\displaystyle x+5\)

For this function \(\displaystyle g(x)\:=\:\frac{2}{x\,-\,4}\)

Sketch the curve
Indicate vertical and/or horizontal asymtotes
Find x-and y- intercepts

Without too much detail, here's what I got:

Vertical asymptote: \(\displaystyle x\,=\,4\)
Horizontal asymptote: \(\displaystyle y\,=\,0\)
No x intercept
y intercept: \(\displaystyle (0, -\frac{1}{2})\)
Looks perfect to me!

Thank you soroban

Oops! You're absolutely right. It was a typo.

Thank you!
