I'm trying to apply a Cartesian plane onto a flat torus (i.e. a standard map) using a Mercator projection. Unfortunately, this is way out of my area of expertise and I need some advice.
Say I have a grid with a range of x=[-50,50] and y=[-50,50]. How would I get the latitude/longitude of point [20,30] from a map with an equator of z? Thanks so much for the help.
