This is a question that I need someone to explain to me.

Between what two consecutive intergers is the square root 78. The last part of the sentence is written with 78 under the radical sign.

Thanks

Re: Square Roots

Write down the squares of the integers from 1 to 10.

Re: Square Roots

would the answer be 8 and 9 since 8 x8 = 64 and 9 x 9 = 81

Re: Square Roots

There is only one thing wrong with that answer. You still are questioning. Be sure! I think you just proved it. Excellent work.

Try this kind of language for the next one: "The answer is '8 and 9' since 8 x8 = 64 and 9 x 9 = 81."

If you wanted to be a little more explicit, you might try this: "The answer is '8 and 9' since 8 x8 = 64 < 78 and 9 x 9 = 81 > 78."
