Hi guys,

I cannot do math aside from the basics. Can someone please help me? I am trying to figure out how many IU's are in a bottle.

The bottle says vitamin D3 10,390 iu per pound, What I'm trying to figure out is how much d3 is in the bottle itself. THE BOTTLE STATES

Net. Wt,2.0 oz.

(56.7g)

I do not even know where to begin.:( Can anyone solve this for me?

Thanks in advance.

Other than googling the conversion factor for converting grams to pounds, all you need to know is how to multiply numbers together.

Multiplication is very basic, so maybe you're in good shape.

Is this an exercise for school?

Have you converted units before?

Each pound contains 10390 IU. You need to convert 56.7 grams to pounds, and then multiply by 10390.

Please also take time to read the forum guidelines; you can start with this link to the summary page.

Cheers :)

I am forty years old and school was too many years ago. I'm simply trying to figure out how much d3 to give my pet lizard. This is why I need to know how much d3 is in the bottle.

No, please guide me step by step if you can. No one around me is good in math.:( I would really appreciate it.

I converted 56.7 grams to pounds=0.125002 then I multiplied it by 10390

this was the result 12987.7078. Did I do this right? What does this number tell me?

Gotcha. Google is your friend. ;)

Enter this instruction into Google: convert 56.7 grams to pounds

Google will respond with: 56.7 Gram = 0.125002 Pound

Now multiply pounds times IU per pound

0.125002 × 10390 = 1298.77

(Google will do that for you, too.)

Therefore, the full bottle contains about 1300 IU of D3.

Cheers

I posted while you were editing.

Yes, you got the steps correct, but your final multiplication is off.
