Rafael earns $35 more per week than Andrew. If their weekly salaries total $715, what amounts does each earn?

715/2=357.50

Andrew 357.50-35.00=322.50
Refeal 357.50+35.00-392.50

x+35 = amount rafael makes per week

x + x + 35 = 715

357.50+322.50+35=715

would the answer still be rafeal makes 392.50
and answer makes 322.50?

what are you doing? it certainly isn't algebra ...

x + x + 35 = 715

2x + 35 = 715

2x = 680

x = 340 ... this is the amount andrew makes in a week

x + 35 = 340 + 35 = 375 ... this is the amount rafael makes in a week

now, check the result ... 340 + 375 = 715
