By how much will population increase during 6th year?

It is estimated that t years from now, the population of a certain community will be

P(t) = 56 - 15/(2t + 1) thousand people.

By how much will the population actually increase during the 6th year?

P(6)=0-[0(2t+1)-15(2) /2t+1)^2= 30/(2t+1)^2

I then plug in 6 into 30/(2t+1)^2 and I get 30/169

Then I will plug in (5) P(5)=30/2(5)+1)^2=30/256

I then minus P(6) & P(5) and this will give me the answer.

P(t)=.060327292

Did I do this right? Or have a just calculated the rate of growth? If I did calculate the rate of growth, then how do I calculate the population during the 6th year?

How did you get the above? The formula you plugged into isn't the given formula for P(t), and I don't see where you actually plugged the "6" in...?

Please reply with clarification, including how this exercise differs from the similar one you posted. (You're not following the procedure outlined in that thread, so this exercise must differ in some way...?)

Thanks I figured out what I was doing wrong

I kept looking for the rate of growth and not the actual growth oncrease during the given yr.
