It takes Tammy 45 minutes to ride her bike 5 miles.at this rate,how long will it take her to ride 8 miles?
 
The first step is to understand the relationship between distance, rate and time.

d = r * t

The second step is to use this understanding to calculate the rate of an object that moves 5 miles in 45 minutes.
