taking [math]2^x[/math]=a and [math]3^x[/math]=b

now the equation becomes [math]b^2-a√2 =8a√2-b^2/3[/math]

If you post more threads, please do not put your equation in the title. Your equation,
In non-Latex, was really this:

9^x - 2^(x + 0.5) = 2^(x + 3.5) - 3^(2x - 1)

Then, after your substitutions, it would become the equation you wrote in post # 1.
