Can someone explain the result ? and the concept to solve this?

It appears that you got the answer "6 hours and 45 minutes" by dividing 387 minutes by 60 minutes, the result being 6.45.

Do you understand that the .45 means 45/100 of an hour, not 45 minutes (which is 45/60 of an hour)?

To do this on a calculator, you can do several different things. The one most directly related to what you did is to find out how many minutes are in 0.45 hour by multiplying 0.45 times 60. What do you get?

Another way would be to subtract 360 minutes (which is 6 hours) from 387 minutes to find the remainder. What do you get?

The other questions have similar issues. Give it another try, and show us your work (not just your answers).

Work out how many lots of 60min go into 387min without going over.
6 lots = 360 min with 27 min left over.
387 min = 360 min + 27min
= 6 hrs 27 min


7 x 500 min = 7(480 min + 20 min)
= 7(8hrs + 1/3hr) since 1/3 of 60 min = 20 min
= (56 + 7/3)hrs
= (48 + 8 + 2⅓)hrs
= 2days + 10hrs + ⅓hr
= 2days 10 hrs 20 min
