I really need help with this stuff, I dont get how to do everything like solving this problem 5+2\p=17\p (those are fractions)
 
\(\displaystyle \L 5 + \frac{12}{p} = \frac{17}{p}\)

multiply every term by p ...

\(\displaystyle \L 5p + 12 = 17\)

can you proceed from this point?

5p + 12 = 17 , -12 from both sides? 5p = 5 divide by 5? get p= 1
