I think we've already shown you the theorems you need. How is the 144 degree angle related to the measure of the arc subtending it (assuming the one ray is tangent to the circle)? How is arc a related to that arc?

Alternatively, you could extend the ray going northeast backward, and consider what the angle so formed is, and how arc a relates to that.
