Hi folks. I hope everyone is well.
Can I just have a wee clarification that my son completed this table correctly?
The confusing part for him is that the last rectangle is technically a square so he's worried he has done it all wrong.

Yes, everything looks good. And a square is a special kind of rectangle, so everything that is true of a rectangle (including how to find its perimeters and area) is still true. So he's done nothing wrong at all.
 
I like this exercise very much. I always use L+W for half of the perimeter
In other words if the perimeter is 100, I would write L+W = 50 and never 2L+2W = 100.
 
Top
