The TI-84 plus, as it comes, is not able to calculate indefinite integrals. Are there installable programs for the TI 84 that would allow this?
Look my dear fellow, anyone who buys a calculator today is just wasting money. Calculators are now as obsolete as slide rules were forty years ago. Almost every student today has a laptop, an ipad equivalent or a smart phone. There are programs available for these platforms. Look at the example. Because it is web-based there is no reason to be concerned with updates. The cost of use is nothing to a minimal yearly fee for advanced capabilities. And all of that can be available on a phone almost everyone has.The TI-84 plus, as it comes, is not able to calculate indefinite integrals. Nay Sir pka, I say nay.Look my dear fellow, anyone who buys a calculator today is just wasting money. Calculators are now as obsolete as slide rules were forty years ago. That is indeed bit expensive.Pka: Well said. In general, I definitely agree with your statement. I bought an expensive ($120) TI-84 calculator and I definitely regret buying it, because I rarely use it. I, too, prefer apps and websites such as Wolfram-Alpha. However, I don't necessarily agree that "anyone who buys a calculator today is just wasting money," because calculators are still essential for school, straight up through college. I've never had an instructor who would allow a laptop, smart phone, or any other internet-enabled device during exams. So, I still believe calculators have some limited usage.
My coffeed brain cells agree with your beered ones, Sir Jonah.
