Creating pie charts: how to construct chart, how to find %'s

Re: Creating charts

Percentages: Divide each piece by the total of all pieces.

Draw: Tough call. Anyway you like, really. Protractor and pencil? MS Excel is good enough at it. What tools are available to you?

When you said "divide each piece by the total of all pieces", what do you mean by "pieces"?

If you want to be very precise you can use a protractor and pencil.

In order to make the graph accurate take the percentage of 360 that corresponds to your piece.

For example if one of the sections is 25% then do .25 * 360[sup:1gl0m0sr]o[/sup:1gl0m0sr] = 90[sup:1gl0m0sr]o[/sup:1gl0m0sr]. Draw a 90[sup:1gl0m0sr]o[/sup:1gl0m0sr] for this section. For all sections after that, use the side of your existing section and draw the new angle on top of that until you are done.
