when I dot procuct V with cross product of V and W I get 0 since the cross product is normal vector to V

when I subtract W from V and do a dot product with V W cross product I also got a zero

Is this a coincidence or are you meant t get 0

when you are meant to get 0 how does this work??

when you take away W from V how could resulting vector be interpreted as??

I am not sure what you mean. Is it, why (VW)(V×W)=0 ?\displaystyle (V-W)\cdot (V\times W)=0~?

That is true for all vectors, (VW)(V×W)=V(V×W)W(V×W)=00=0\displaystyle (V-W)\cdot (V\times W)=V\cdot(V\times W)-W\cdot(V\times W)=0-0=0
