Derivative of Exponential Function

This requires that I find the derivative of the function. If you'd like to help me, I would appreciate a step by step process.

The problem reads as thus, negative 7x raised to the 2nd power e raised to the negative 3x

y=-7x^2e^(-3x)

y=-7x^2e^(-3x)

=-7(x^2e^(-3x))

Now, product rule. We'll also need to use the chain rule with e^(-3x).


y'=-7(x^2e^(-3x)(-3)+e^(-3x)(2x))

See how I got that? First x derivative of the second + second x derivative of the first.

y'=-7(-3x^2e^(-3x)+2xe^(-3x))

=-7xe^(-3x)(-3x+2)
