The exercise reads (mostly) as follows:

Consider the 2^2 design in two blocks with AB confounded. Prove algebraically that [imath]SS_{AB}[/imath] [??] [imath]SS_{\textsf{Blocks}}[/imath]

I do not recognize, nor could I locate, the symbol between the two SS expressions, indicated by [??] in the above. When you reply, please include the definition of that symbol, and provide a clear listing of your thoughts and efforts so far.
