Greetings! I'm new to the forum and was wondering if someone can help me.
I'm reviewing a study which looked at the impact of a new paediatric regulation on approval of medicines for children 10 years after its introduction. The study looked at two time points, before introduction of regulation and after introduction of regulation to see if there had been an increase in medicines licensed for children. One of the limitations stated by the study authors is stated as follows:
- "Showing differences between two periods in time does not per se establish causality"
I am puzzled by this and welcome any references that explains this? Any help clarifying this statement will be greatly appreciated.
