Differentiate y = e 7squarerootx
Hi Nnickirusso. I can't tell what you were thinking, from your attempt. We can make a u-substitution, if that's easier to understand.

y = e^(x^(1/7))

Let u = x^(1/7)

y = e^u

According to the Chain Rule, the first derivative of y with respect to x is:

derivative of e^u (with respect to u) TIMES derivative of u (with respect to x)

Can you state the derivative of e^u with respect to symbol u?

What is the derivative of x^(1/7) with respect to x?

Please show your attempt. Thanks!
