please help me with direct and inverse variations. what do i do if a problem says "y varies directly as the square of x." how do i go about solving the problem

\(\displaystyle \L\\y=kx^{2}\)

Inversely would be:

\(\displaystyle \L\\y=\frac{k}{x^{2}}\)

Since we cannot provide the requested lesson material within this environment, please study some of the many lessons available online:

. . . . .Google results for "variation equations"

Once you have studied some lessons (at least two!), you will understand the basic keywords and techniques for solving "variation" type word problems and equations.
