Find domain of h(x) = sqrt{5 + 4x}.
Solution:
I know the radicand cannot be negative. I must equate 5 + 4x to be greater than or equal to 0.
5 + 4x ≥ 0
4x ≥ -5
x ≥ -5/4
Let d = domain
d = {x | x ≥ -5/4}
This tells me that x can safely be equal to -5/4 or greater than -5/4 for h(x). Correct?
