Domains of Rational Expressions

What have you tried? Where are you stuck?
Can you define what a domain is? When will a value not be in the domain?

81m2 – 16
5m + 10
22x + 11
2x2 – x
@kiwan, this is a poorly posted question.
Are we to assume that you are asked to state the domain of \(\displaystyle \frac{81m^2-16}{5m+10}~\&~\frac{22x+11}{2x^2-x}~?\)
Do you understand that we cannot divide by zero so that in the first case \(\displaystyle m\ne -2~?\)
To get more help you must post a response.

I think you are asking how to find the domains of [MATH]\frac{81m^2-16}{5m+10}[/MATH] and [MATH]\frac{22x+11}{2x^2-x}[/MATH].

We'll want to see your thoughts, to show us where you need help. But a good place to start, if that's all you're asking for, is to ask yourself, "Why might it not be possible to evaluate this expression for some value of the variable?" Then you can find what values those would be; and the domain is the set of all values of the variable for which the expression can be evaluated.
