F = (x3 - y) i + (y3 + z) j + (z3 - 2xy) k
S is the surface of the cylinder bounded by:
x2 + y2 = 4 z = 0 z = 3
Calculate the net volume of fluid crossing S in one unit of time.

if anyone could help me that'd b cool

haha well no one replied so i decided to reply back to myself

im still kinda stuck, and there really isnt anything in the book that pushes me in the right direction, so if anyone could give me a nudge

nvm its cool i seem to have gotten it my answer came out to b 180(pi)

hopefully its right once i get it back

I could be wrong, but don't we need to know something about the speed, direction, and depth of the fluid? Maybe we can assume the depth, simply filling the space, but the other two are a bit trickier.

I'm even more confused. The flux I know and love goes in and comes out of any closed surface so the net is always zero.
If you have a few idle moments could you show what you did?
