Hey there, I kindly ask you to help me to solve this world problem that I can't find answer for a week... I'll be glad if anyone could help me..

Three man: A, B, C, invested 47,000 in business. B puts in 500 more than twice as much as A, and C puts in three times as much as B. How many dollars each put into the business?

First define your variables according to the "find" of the problem.Let:

# of dollars invested by A = A

# of dollars invested by B = B

# of dollars invested by C = C

Then write mathematical equations according to the "givens":

A, B, C, invested 47,000 in business. \(\displaystyle \to \) A + B + C = 47000

B puts in 500 more than twice as much as A \(\displaystyle \to \) "?"........... continue

Now use the first equation:

A + B + C = 47000

A + (2A+500) + [3(2A+500)] = 47000

Simplify and solve for 'A' - then 'B' (using B=2A+500) & 'C' [using C=3(2A+500)].

You should check your answer by putting these values back into the first equation (which is A + B + C = 47000).
