Hello everyone,

Been having trouble figuring out steps steps that a friend of mine got when faced with this problem:

Today’s fastest modern computers can perform one operation in 1x10-8 second. How many operations can such a computer perform in 1 minute?

I figure that it goes something like this:

(1x10-8)(60)

Now, the answer is 6x109 operations, I just don't know how he arrived at that solution. Could anyone please show me the formula and steps that were involved, thank you.

So it can perform 1/(10-8 =) 108 operations in one second.

Now calculate # of operations performed in 1 minute.
