A submarine is 10 feet below sea level. It dives 8 feet per second. Write an expression to describe the submarine's position after S seconds. Evalute the expression to find the submarine's position after 30 seconds.

P.S. The expression I came up with for this problem is: 10 -8S .


The answer I came up with is 230 please let me know if this is the correct answer.

The expression I came up with for this problem is: 10 - 8S

If "-8S" stands for "going down by eight every second, for S seconds", then what should the first term be? Put another way, if "minus" means "down" or "below", what does "+10" mean? Is this the correct term?
