Hi Rabinov23. We don't need to use the distance formula (although, we could) to determine the base and height. Note the labels on the x-axis and y-axis. Each vertex has Integer coordinates, so we can simply count the squares.

From C to F is the 'Base' and the 'Height' is from E to the Base. The formula:

Area = 1/2 × Base × Height

?
 
I'm not quite sure how you got 8 square units. What did you get for the base of the triangle? What did you get for the height?
