The perimeter of a rectangle is 42 meters. The length of the rectangle is 3 meters less than twice the rectangle’s width. Find the length and width of the rectangle.

Re: does anyone know how to do this problem????

The length of the rectangle is 3 meters less than
twice the rectangle’s width
...

L = 2W-3

The perimeter of a rectangle is 42 meters

P = 42

substitute your given information into the rectangle perimeter formula ... P = 2L + 2W

42 = 2(2W-3) + 2W

solve for W, then determine L.
