I will guess that we are supposed to assume that the dot inside the triangle marks the center of the larger triangle, and that we're supposed to assume that the vertical line segment is an apothem of the larger triangle. If so, then:
1. Given that the larger triangle is equilateral and thus equiangular, and that the hypotenuse of the smaller triangle necessarily bisects the right-hand base angle of the larger triangle, what then is the measure of the right-hand base angle of the smaller triangle? What ratios then must you have? So what then must be the length of the vertical leg of the smaller triangle?
2. What then must be the length of the horizontal leg of the smaller triangle?
3. What is the definition of "apothem"? So which segment of the smaller triangle is the apothem of the larger triangle? So what is its length?
4. What is the length of the base of the smaller triangle? What then must be the length of the base of the larger triangle? What then must be the perimeter of the larger triangle?
5. What formula have they given you? Where are you stuck in plugging the values into this formula?
Please be complete, showing your work and answers for all of the questions above. Thank you!
